I know I have already asked several questions about my new to me 15-2. I really like the gun but one thing that does bother me, doesn't bother the shooting or groups but bothers me is a loose blade on the rear sight. Is this normal for the Dan Wesson sights? the blade moves side to side very easily with the adjustment screw, so it works ok just really loose, kind of sloppy loose. Is there a way to tighten the blade up in the rear sight screw channel, any suggestions ?

Thanks in advance

A spot of clear finger nail polish may just do the trick!

There are a couple different styles of rear sights depending on the year built. On all my large frame pistols including a never fired 714 the rear sight blade (the part with the notch) has some wobble front to back. Not much or enough to effect accuracy but with a gun so solid it is a little annoying that was the best they could make.

dride711, that was my feeling. Such a nice gun that the loose sight blade makes it feel a little cheap. It does not effect accuracy but it is irratating. I know someone out there has a fix for it?

After reading your post again I don't think you have the same issue as I was talking about. It seems that your left to right is very loose. My guess is it was poorly machined or abused at some point. There are after market Millet sight you can find but it will only work with the older style pistol sights. The length of the slot on the top of the frame where it fits in is the factor. I'll look at mine and can give you a measurement by this weekend. There are a couple Millets around but they fit the older longer style.

I bought some but they will only fit my Monson frame and not my Palmer.  If you're new, there are three different plants that made the revolver. Just do a little search on the site and you can find out about them. Monson, Palmer and Norwich in that order. Some people swear by the first and last but Palmer gets a bad rap unnecessarily.

Mine is a Monson, I was trying to place a date of manufacture and I believe it was around 1986 but I am probably wrong. I have been watching eBay for a set of the Millet sights but as of right now they are all for the 44 mag size frame.

On mine it is just the rear blade it's self that is loose, I can wiggle it front to back and a little side to side. The base that holds the blade is fine. But if I can find the Millet I will just replace the whole thing.

Thanks dride711
