Welcome, I think Steve gave you a good number to pay your mom. Value varies with condition but it's you mom after all and $600 seems fair to me. This site is the best place to come for info/advice about your DW revolver. Lots of knowledgeable and friendly people to help you with questions.

Welcome to the forum from PA!!No pics??
Don't think you clicked on the upload tab after you brought the pics over.
I'm not sure what happened with the pictures. I even came back to the post and they were there. Ivr added the pics. I was thinking $600 range. Thanks!

I do not believe Monson made any fixed barrels. Only Palmer guns had the fixed barrel available! I think a bit lower than $600 for a in family trnsfer and gun condition. (looks a bit rough with some plum on frame and cylinder is marked up) You should get the mother price!

My understanding is that all Heavy shrouds have the underlug all the way to the muzzle and fixed barrels have the bevel cut at the muzzle. So my question should have been; "Why is there a bevel cut at the muzzle?"
Explain that ...
It’s a Standard (non-vented) 2.5” barrel assembly. Slightly different bevel cut. The fixed barrel shroud has a shorter more curved cut.
