How can you tell a 15 from a 15-2 does the 15-2 show in the serial # I have read the hammers are diff but what other things set them apart?. Thanks for any help.

Look under archives in the header above, and click on shroud types for some explanation, the older model 15 had a porkchop shaped shroud.

I'd better add some pics here, to help...because pics is what I do!cool big-grin

Going from front to rear, the model 15 has a flush barrel nut, early style crane release, knurled ejector rod, fat rear sight. These s/n's were stamped on the frame under the crane, but moved to the outside of the frame near the end of production.

The 15-1 has a later style crane release, mushroomed ejector rod, smaller rear sight (this model only). The s/n is also  rollmarked on the outside.

The model 15-2 of course, lost the Porkchop shroud & the rear sight changed again. For the first year or so, 15-2's had pinned front sights, this changed when they introduced the interchangeable sights. Hammers were straight knurled, later on this changed to a checker or diamond style knurl. All 15-2 s/n's are rollmarked on the outside.
