Does this make sense?  Looks like the bid history has the last two bids shooting up from $266 which is normal up to over $600?  I am new to ebay in looking for Dan Barrels.  Am I missing something here or is this barrel worth $600??

That is way out of bounds for what it is.  Somebody must have REALLY needed a nice Monson 2.5VH.  Sometimes people get caught up in the moment and get carried away.  This looks like one of those times to me.  That should have finished under $300 IMO.  I'll be Scott Rosenberger is smiling right nowbig-grin.

I think I've seen complete 15-2's wearing that barrel sell for about the same money as that BA.  Sometimes its cheaper to buy the gun to get the barrel you want.  Then either keep the 'free gun frame' or sell it if you don't need it.

Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

Preposterous I say!!!!  Utterly ludicrous!!!  HOWEVER, if was a 722VH2.5, I may be inclined to be guilty of such ridiculousness!!

If a buyer paid that money, then is is "worth" it to someone

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

That jump to 6 bills from less than half that is suspect. Wonder if the sale is gonna fall through?

This is a 15" for 1,700+ notice the last two bids??  Why would someone jump up a bid over $700

Here is the same pattern of Bids on this one??  The last two bids make a huge jump?  Is this normal?

Have you fellows seen these prices before??

Looks like the winner made a really big bid 12 hours before it ended that held (automatic bid).

At least the purchaser of the 2.5" got free shipping! cool

I would be glad to sell my VH2 for $500 if someone wants a deal! wink

It was a glitch in the ebay system... the Other Ron can fill you in....

And with that introduction, I will chew my cabbage twice as my Grandfather used to say. I was high bidder for a modest amount on Scott ' s 21/2"VH.  When the sale ended ebay conflated the final two bids with the previous item, a 10 " V BA that sold for $ 615.  Scott graciously voided the sale when I pointed  out what happened.  Ebay is penalizing him for their mistake despite  my testimony and his. All is well despite the snafu. And no, a 21/2" BA is not yet worth $615. HOWEVER,  some of the recent prices are flabbergasting.

Thanks for the explanation.  I am guessing the same thing happened on the 15" barrel as well.  Some sort of glitch in he system.  I am new to the pursuit of Dan Wesson revolvers on line and am just trying to figure some things out before I start making bids and pursuing more of these fine firearms.  So far everyone on this Dan Wesson forum seems to be very helpful.
