I had several Dan Wesson 357 revolvers, ( 2 ) of which were kits containing the three separate barrels and a 22 revolver with scope. Several years ago my house was broken in to and the ( 2 ) 357 revolvers along with 4 Colt 45 autos ( goldcup ) (2- 1911s ) and a combat comander, a Ilama 45 and qutie a few other pistols were stolen, the only pistol ever recovered was a 44 mag revolver that the state police were able to recreate the serial number in their lab. Anyway, theives did not take the one kit so I am left with several barrels for the 357, my question is, is it possible to get a 357 cylinder and convert the 22 to a 357 using the 357 barrel? This may be a stupid question but obviously if I knew the answer, I would not be asking. the barrels interchange, so is it possible to just change the 22 cylinder to a 357 cylinder? Any help would be appreciated. I carried the 357 while on the police force and would love to have another.

Earlc - Welcome to the forum. Here's a short answer to your question.....you cannot convert the .22 to .357 for several reasons. First and foremost, the threads at the frame side of the barrel are different on the .22 and .357. This is by design so that a barrel of incorrect caliber cannot be screwed on to a frame. Secondly, your firing pin won't line up either. You'd be much better off keeping the .22 or selling it to me, and buying another .357 gun to use with your barrels.
