I've been reading up on DW 22s and while I can find some 22LR guns for sale, I haven't seen any DW 22Mags.  I've read that they were made but must be rare.  I think I remember someone on this forum stating that they were going to modify a DW 22LR cylinder to handle 22 mag.  Aside from overboring the cyl. where can one find DW 22mag barrels?
Not that I want to do this conversion, but its a good mental challenge.

Scorpio,

DW did in fact make .22 WMR revolvers in both blue and SS.  They are rather difficult to locate but are around.  BA's show up at times as well on GB.

Same barrels .22 should work either way, shrouds would be the only difference!

There, fixed it for ya, Dave.wink poke

Yes, the .22 Mag is much more elusive than the standard .22 LR, but it's not "unobtanium" so far. However they ain't necessarily cheap. You just have to bide your time to find one of the elusive little buggers.wink

Here's a shot of a 722M in found in captivity not long ago on GB…

And yes, it was part of a PP. It eventually went for over $3K last April…

I bet there's not many Smiff 22's that command a $3K price tag these days.big-grin

We love our 722M.  It's the one gun that goes to the range with us every time.

After we are getting tired from shooting the big bore guns, we switch to the 22 mag and get some more pleasure from our range time.

The barrel twist on 22 lr is diffrent then 22 mag.

Many .22 revolvers come with interchangeable cylinders to back and forth from LR to Magnum.
