Not too long ago I purchased a Dan Wesson .44 Magnum frame that was mechanically sound but visually challenged. The bluing was approximately 80%. I purchased a 2.5 " barrel/shroud from EWK and had the revolver hard chromed.  I noticed that the 2.5" barrel matched with the large frame and grip made the finished product look a little unbalanced. It points and shoots like a champ. This is an aesthetic thing. Has Dan Wesson ever manufactured a 3" barrel for a .44 Mag?

I don't believe DW  made a 3 inch but EWK does. Look to the right. Good luck.

No 3" production BAs.  4" is my favorite length for the .44 maggies. Balances really well and, with a full lug, recoil is no big deal.

Years ago I had a stainless steel Dan Wesson 45 LC with a 4" barrel. I foolishly sold it to finance a 6" S&W 45 LC. I was much younger then and in to trying new "stuff". I'm not putting down S&W mind you. However, the Dan Wesson was built like a tank. I had some pretty stout hand loads that the DW swallowed with ease. Those same loads started to loosen up the S&W after a time. The 6" S&W is gone and I have a 5" 460 S&W Mag, which is a tank * 2.

In my defense, if I could have looked into the future, I wouldn't have sold that revolver. I also would have bought Apple stock when it was really cheap.
