I have never tried to identify my Dan Wesson revolvers. There is not an actual model # on either.

The .357 roll mark says made in Monson,Mass. No model #  anywhere . It's stainless with an 8" barrel , vent rib . Ser # SDO19764 . I'm only assuming DOM to be 1976 and that it is a model 715.....??

The .22 revolver, (Monson,Mass) has a blued 6" barrel with ser # AO29331.............Model 22 ??

I'm a bit more up to speed on my other handguns SIG's , CZ 75 , High Powers etc. but am VERY happy to have purchased these two revolvers. They are a thing of beauty and fantastic to shoot. Currently have my crosshairs on a .445 Super Mag that has me drooling. Ha

Would be grateful for any info on these two revolvers , DOM and significance of numerical prefix on serial #'s.

Thks kindly,

Walter

just want to ask has anyone herd why some .22s have that A in the serial number? I have two one .22 and one.22mag. I'm guessing they were an early edition gun from monson but don't know why they chose to use the A. Daytonoccasion

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

I believe it was sometime after 1981 that DW went to letter designation of cartridge and model. In 1986 they used the actual cartridge and B for blue, S for stainless.
