I am new here and in my introduction post I mentioned that I am in the process of purchasing a Stainless 357 pistol pack but I am a little concerned about the condition of the rifling in the barrels. The bores are not pitted at all they are nice and shiny and looking from the rear of the barrels the rifling looks pretty strong on the left side but on the right side they aren't so pronounced. I have found by google a company called EWK Arms who sells replacement barrels and I am wondering if this is a good option. I can buy the gun from a local gun shop for $550 out the door with a 2", 3", 4" and 6" barrels. Any opinions? I would mainly like to know how to judge the rifling. Thanks Carl.

Welcome to the forum! That sounds like a very good price for the pac. Sometimes it can be difficult to judge the rifling without removing the barrel and looking at it under good light. Were it me, I would buy the pac and see how it shoots - good performance leave as is, problems you can evaluate replacing one or more barrels with ones from EWK.

Thanks for the advice I have put money down on the gun to have a few days to think about it and with the option to back out and it does come with a 60 day warranty so at least it's not going anywhere. Carl

That's terrible. Tell me where the seller is and I will give him a piece of my mind and save you from making a terrible mistake. Seriously, Go first thing in the morning and buy that pac. It is worth three times 550. The barrels are always in stock at EWK. Welcome and congrates on a great deal.

The price sounds right. It would be interesting to see the pac. That price is so low it makes me think that it's put together in an unoriginal case. Either way, the components together sounds like a deal. You can take your time finding a correct case if need be. Could be some leading that needs attention. Buy it, see how it shoots and go from there. I'm sure there are some members here who coud examine and give a second opinion. Just pm me the address and I'll take a look see....

Rifling is hard to take pictures of- my guess is it's the angle the picture was taken. At that price, rifling isn't an issue. You can always buy new tubes.

You had me at $550.00 ! I don't IMHO think you will go wrong there at all. Especially being Stainless. I mean you could get that with just a 6" Barrel, I think?. As everyone above has said if there is an issue with one of the barrels you can always go to EWK for the tubes. I have a few of his tubes and they are superb.
I do have to say though,the price is low so be cautious as dannyboy mentioned, however If all looks good

Hello all and thanks for your input I guess I should have said in the beginning that there is no box but that doesn't really bother me I mainly like the idea of all the barrels with the gun and they all appear to be matching to the gun and are marked the same and I plan to go ahead and pull the trigger and buy it. I figure worse case scenario I can at least get my money back if I am unhappy with the gun in the end. I don't think I will be though. I have been busy lately and hope I can get a chance to pick it up tomorrow or Monday. And when I do I will be sure to post pics! Thanks again Carl
