I am a newbe here. Sorry if this is not the right place to post this.
I have a DW 357 Maximum stainless that needs a new 6 inch barrel tube.
I found a 6 inch barrel tube for a DW 357 Magnum.
Are the barrel tubes interchangeable between the 357 Magnum and 357 Maximum revolvers?
thanks.

No they are not.
The 15-2 .357 mag is a small frame gun, the 357 MAX or model 40/740 is a Supermag frame gun and the barrel tubes are much larger in outside diameter. They will not interchange.

Check EWK's ad to the right. I have a couple of his barrels and really like them. Seem top notch.
I bought a couple of CZ 22 barrels (on sale) some years ago and was underwhelmed with their quality. The frame threads were not long enough to fully seat the barrel without a lot of twisting. Seems like the barrel face? was not as smooth as I thought they should be. Maybe that's why they were on sale.
In any case, if I was looking for a barrel, I'd look at EWK. I bought his barrels in SS while all my DWs are blue so I can quickly tell factory from after market.

I would contact Bob at DW (607-336-2622, bob@cz-usa.com) to see if they can make you a 357 max barrel. Bob has been great to work with in my experience. I have my 744 with him now to get a new unfluted cylinder installed.

CZ had a 6 inch barrel tube for my 357 Max in stock for $82. I just about fell off my chair.
BTW, the reason I needed a new barrel tube is because the last time I fired the gun the barrel tube developed a bulge in it, and I couldn't even get the shroud off. I had to take it to a gunsmith to get the shroud off.
Anybody heard of these barrel tubes getting a bulge in them?

A bulge is usually caused by a squib round. A light load causes a bullet to get stuck part way down the barrel. A follow up shot without first clearing the stuck bullet is what causes the bulge. Never heard of it happening any other way.
