Hi Guys!
I need help on what you know about the 741's.....
#1 Are all the 741's "Shiney" or "Brushed" or did they make both?
#2 With a Serial number of SC0013XX, is it from 1983?
#3 If it's a 90-95% condition, what's a GOOD price? (no box or extras just the gun with a V6 barrel)
#4 How much more recoil than my 15-2 with a 2 inch and the 741 has a 6 inch
Thanks for all you guys know!
Tim
Damn if I don't have this!!

The 741's I've seen most often are brushed, but there are some High Luster guns out there. You can use the serial number registry to date that gun. Valuation will depend alot on your location as much as gun condition and extras. Around my area, a nice 741 VH6 could easily go for north of $700. Recoil isn't bad, its more than a 15-2 but not terrible, the mass of the gun soaks up recoil. 41magnum is one of my favorite cartridges to shoot, its potent yet refined and if loaded properly will equal a 44 magnum and even exceed its balistics. Also a very accurate round.

Sorry, but Steve don't know nuthin' bout .41 mag, the intelligent observation came from scorpio. I think you Large Frame guys are, uh, obsessed with "size"
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm taking a little trip on Knob Creek right now.
This absolutely takes the prize for the most outrageous thread hi-jack in DWF History.

Well...if we're hijacking: Rowan's Creek is flowing in Louisiana! http://www.bourbonenthusiast.com/forum/DBvd.php?id=95&task=displaybottling
To get back on track- Tim; are you a bourbon drinker?

OK, since the OP has joined in on the fun, this is now an "Official DWF Off Topic Free Fire Zone".
In the interest of following (ever so briefly) the intent of the Original Post:
I have no personal experience with .41 Magnum, but I think it is one of the "Shooter's Calibers". It's interesting, with better ballistics than the .44 magnum and it was originally the brainchild of Elmer Keith, Bill Jordan, and Skeeter Skelton, pretty much the Holy Trinity of high powered revolver development.

+1 On the reloading, factory ammo is all but impossible to find in my area and its expensive. I reload so I just get brass at the shows and pick up some cast bullets and I'm set.

Haven't started on the reloading part just yet. and I do know that it is NOT cheap to shoot, but the deal I'm looking at I think I should just go get it. I mean really a 741 for $449.00 + tax. Cant really say no. I will have to rob
Peter to pay Paul for the month but that's life!

Cabo Wabo Slver straight from the freezer with an ice cold Dogfish Head 90 Minute Imperial IPA in a frozen mug......... mmmmmmmmmmm...... goood!
Well, I recently purchased a 741 from a forum member. I was looking for a 744 until Ron and my "but Steve don't know nuthin' bout .41 mag" brother talked up the .41 to me. Got dies, some brass, a little factory ammo to turn into brass, that primers and powder on the way.
Yes Ron, I've taken that bad boy apart 3 times now.
Had hoped to get to the range tomorrow, but the Cabo and Dogfish interrupted tax preparation. So, I'll be spending the day trying to get out of......uh..... trying to figure out ways to give Uncle Sugar MORE of my money.
