Greetings

Between rain & farmers working thier fields around our local range there have not been many opportunities to fire my 414 SM built on my 375SM  Frame.  But yesterday I did get out and the range was open.  The results are from 25 yards ...

22-24.5 grains  ACC1680 these were just 5 rounds each and just to be sure all was well.

25.5g  1680  265gc fn seated to 2.015 (second crimp groove)  Mild load  .70 6 shots

26.5g  1680  (same bullit & Length)                                             .80  7 shots

27.5g  1680                                                                                  .90   7 shots

28.5g  1680                                                                                  .90   7 shots

29.5g  1680                                                                                  .75   7 shots

So far using WOLF Large Pistol Primers there are no pressure signs and Case extraction is easy.  WEb expansion at 29.5g is just .001 more than the 24.5g load.   No leading in the custom machined .410 1-18 twist barrel.

Next outing I will continue advancing charges at .5 grain increments.  The 29.5 load recoiled smartly But no more than my favorite load in the 375SM setup with a 255g bullet.  Not sure how long before that will happen.  Proud To Be An American

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Thanks for the great range report! Looks like the load is doing very well. It is close to my load, but I use the Leadhead 270 grain GC bullet.
