Has anyone ever seen a fixed barrel in a 44? I have seen them in the .357 but not in a large frame. Always something new.

Not real common, but yes they have been seen previously in captivity.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I saw it earlier also and was wondering the same......a .44 fixed barrel?  I haven't seen one before.  I'll be curious to see what it brings!

I have seen a couple .44 fixed barrels on GB, this is the first one lately. There is also a 715FB on GB right now too.

That poor orphan needs a good home and one heck of a bath. Its just a shame to see a fine gun in that shape. I remember seeing them listed long ago in a Guns and Ammo annual. Along with the "Little Dan" and the FB .357  I wonder what the reserve is myself. I do remember they were cheaper than the standard "Swap" barrel guns.drool

I own a 5" Model 44-FB.  I want to say I bought it (new) around 1993 or 1994.  It was right after DW was going through yet another financial crisis and the only guns any of the distributors had were the FB units.

I couldn't agree more. That poor thing needs a good scrubbing and a good home!

The 44/744 FB is certainly one of the more elusive FB's in the DW lineup, but not nearly reaching the "unobtanieum" stature as the rarely seen in captivity FB Compensated guns have been.wink

Aside from this gun's obvious trigger guard rot & the zit where someone drilled a scope hole in the shroud, I think it looks like a good shooter from here. If bidding stayed reasonable, I'd certainly pounce...dwas
