Hi there everyone,

I'm new to the forum, In fact just found it now. Thought maybe somebody here could help me with a problem I have.

The cylinder on my Dan Wesson has a warped chamber. This causes every
sixth shot to rotate hard or not line up right.

I'm looking for a replacement now and was wondering if anyone one had one, or could point me in the direction of one?

First ... Welcome to the DWF Sign...

Second... Sorry, fat chance at finding a DW cylinder.  You MAY be able to get one made at CZ usa / DW, but it is probably cost prohibitive.  And if you do find one, it will need to be fit to the gun by a gunsmith.

What makes you think it is the cylinder?  Did you have a hot load in one chamber?

Yeah it was my dads and he gave it to me in this condition. When you look through the cylinder you can see the chamber is slightly oval shaped.

My dad used to hand load so that could be what did it, or it could of been the guy he bought it from. I think he payed $100 dollars for it back the 80's.

How times have changed...

Welcometo the DWF Sign

You could send it in to DW & see if they can fix your existing cylinder by honing it. They would have to look at it to determine if it's repairable though, versus making a new cylinder.

I saw one on GA a couple of days ago so I just checked.  unfortunately it's for a 715 (.357).  Sorry.

GoodLuck

I had a new 741 a few years ago. It had a bulge in one of the chambers in the cylinder.

DW replaced the cylinder under warranty. They had a problem with a bit that bored out the chamber, it made part of the chamber oversize and the case would bulge when it was shot.  Not sure if it has any relation to your problem.

If you don't find a used one, just mark the chamber or fill it with something and live with it. Whats one less round on a free gun.
