Good quality work matching the DW high polish blue should only enhance the value. I don't know if you have someone in mind, Ford's has a great reputation, but I have no personal experience
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Then on the flip side, if I do that I might have to keep it!
That is the problem. If done very well it can help with value but it all depends on the initial cost of the revolver. One would think the cost of re-bluing a DW might be a somewhat cheaper since that the barrel and shroud is easily removable, but never having one done I can't say.
By the way what happened to Blue Ridge Bluing? I saw mention of them in some older posts but the website is no longer viable.

If you are sure you want to sell, I don't think you will be able to recover the price difference for a quality rebluing, unless your gun is in really bad shape. Post a photo and we can give you a better idea. Spend some time on Gunbroker following the selling prices and condition of the 44's and you will have a good idea of what your gun can bring without further investment. Of course prices will vary with the part of the country you live in.
