Good morning
This is another reason I am happy my dad was involved with reloads and casting.
I cast and reload all my calibers. I do buy shot for blasting crows and .224 jacketed things for those black rifles but after that I have not bought a loaded round up there in the U.S. of A. for many years.
If you think finding ammo for the 445 SM is fun.. try the 375 SM or worse the 414 SM. But when I got into those calibers I already was making my own so it never seemed any big deal.
So you might want to consider getting a mold and a reloading setup. I fire a 265 gr gas check bullet in my 414SM at 1550+ fps and that is not the max load. So I think with a 445 a 275+ grain gas check bullet 1500+ fps should be no problem and would cost you a whole 10 cents a round to reload. And that combination will harvest most any critter out there.
The mold would cost you less than a box of ammo. Dies again are cheap as you can use 44 mag dies. In the 4 months you have been waiting you could have been rolling your own and having a whole bunch of fun.
Just another option from a shooter who will never be ammo less...

I've bought 60 rounds so far (20 rounds per box) from Reed's & have been very pleased. Would have PM'd, but figured others could use the info too.

CF,
Ron called me back a couple weeks ago on a question I had and while I had him on the
line I asked him about the 445, he said he was on hold waiting for starline brass.
Don't know if this has changed as of date but site still shows back order.

Bummer about the wait. My last order from them was in April, so I guess they've been cleaned out since then. Looks like I'd better get myself some dies, so I can reload the ones I've used. I've already got everything else to finish the job.
