Greetings all.  Glad to be a member here, I own two Dan Wessons and can't wait to own more.  Question: won't the barrels swap between the .445 supermag and the V44?  If I buy a .445 Supermag, with no extras, I'm hoping I can buy .44 barrels and shrouds for it to build a pack.  I'm new to this, pardon my ignorance, just want to make sure I'm not trying to do something stupid.  Thanks!

I believe the barrel tubes are the same and will fit but the shrouds won’t. The slot on the 44 mag shroud for the ejector rod will be too short for the longer 445 SM ejector rod. That would have to be machined a little bit.

As we say in my neighborhood, Ed Zackery. Joke there, some other time. There is another solution. A 44 mag ejector rod instead of the supermag rod. It may not fully eject the the cases but it won't destroy the integrity of the 44 mag shroud.

Are you positive that the threads of both the .44 and .445 barrel tubes are exactly the same .. have you tried fitment of barrels between frames ?

Thanks so much for the education folks, it sure was helpful.  Thanks all!  Stinger, I can only imagine owning four .445's!  Maybe one day when I'm all growed up...

I have the same problem as Stinger. DWAS. Concerning 15-2s, and 44 mags, and 32 mags, and 22lr, and 715s, and 357 Supermags. Just a couple of 445 though. screwy

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Willy, you are in a class of your own. I think Scott and Dakota Jack may be in intensive care too. I come by it honestly. My hoarder mom's house was torn down when  we got her out of it. My roof isn't falling in though. I seem to have branched out to other makes. Phillips and Rodgers Medusa 47, Manurhin MR 96. S&W Registered Magnums, etc. I call it investing, not hoarding.

Yeap - it's been a problem for many of us for a long time.  Haha....I've tried the "investing" alibi quite a few times with my better half, and every time I get an evil-eye look along with a "you're full of ***" reply every time!

My wife shares culpability by introducing me to firearms and encouraging me. She also gets a new Coach purse or other pretty bauble every time I buy a big boy. I tell her our boys will inherit them.
