Proud To Be An AmericanCould anyone tell me why some stainless shrouds are slotted along the sides and others are solid just curious thanks

To the best of my limited knowledge the slots were originally to reduce weight for IHMSA competition but ultimately became a option just because they look so cool!!! Cool If I am off on this someone will come along and straighten us out soon.

LB, I believe you're exactly right. If they didn't look so darn cool, I bet there wouldn't be near as many of them out there.Laugh 

BTW Dogtrialerguy, the slots weren't only limited to the stainless guns...

LB is correct. For the gun to be legal inthe  Production category, it had to weigh 4 pounds or less. Slots were used to reduce weight on the 40/740 first.
