I am a fan of the .45, actually any caliber that starts with .4.  I'm looking at a .22 Pak as my first DW in 30+ years, but

would like to follow it up with a .45.  Did DW make many in this caliber?  Are they available as Paks?

Thanks

Mike

The 45s are super hard to find, Mike...they are available as paks (even harder)...and you'd better start saving $$$.

Welcome to DWF.

Not even one a year show up on Gunbroker. And then there is a bidding war. It is possible to have a 44 mag cylinder and barrel bored out. I doubt Dan Wesson would do it. A 45 Colt barrel will not screw into a 44 mag frame. The threads are intentionally different. I was lucky to find one with a BIN on Gunbroker at 5am. It was listed at 2am. I would not think that will ever happen again. It appeared ANIB so I bought a Smith 25-2 to shoot 45colt and keep the Dan pristine. I don't monitor all the auctions though, so keep on looking while you buy all the other calibers. Did you hear about DWAS.

dwas is something medical science has pondered for decades. It is the uncontrollable desire to fill your safe...then a closet...then your garage...and in the final stages, a warehouse with Dan Wesson firearms. Its scientific name is Gottahava Foursixtyitis but those of us who have undergone rehab and 12-step recovery simply call it DWAS...Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome.

Further details on this and other acronyms can be found in the FAQ's area in the header bar at the top of this page. Happy reading.goodluck

That's not really a 45 long colt. 460 Rowland convert to fire only 45 long colt.

I just thought it interesting, he appears to have messed up a valuable gun.

It is interesting, non-fluted colored cylinder, short barrel assembly. Had a lot more going for it before being modified.

I could give the Blue one a good home.  He could live next to my Triple Lock.

What material are the grips made of?  Looks great.

Is there a price where this would be worth buying?

Ditto,  shame to mess up a 7460 Rowland. They also shoot 45 win mag.

Thanks guys. They were my holy grail.😎

They are both wearing LB grips. The grips on the blue 45 are faux ivory with solid gold emblems. A bit of excess I couldn't resist.
