Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone is staying safe and avoiding any COVID nasty stuff. I have a 714 with service sights and I'd like to add a set of target sights but I do not want to deface the gun as it is in excellent condition and extremely difficult to find in Australia. Would any company have marketed a kit or is there a way to add them with a minimum of frame modification ? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Take Care

IMHO, any frame modifications ruins the value of the gun. If it is just a tool as in LE work you could mill the back of the frame to accommodate a  Ruger or or DW rear sight. The front sight blade would have to be replaced too. Or you could drill and tap the shroud and put a scope or red dot on.

Or buy another adjustable sight DW. Sorry I could not be more helpful. Other folks may have some ideas.

I know there was an after market adjustable sight for S&W that attached to the side plate screws.  I've never seen anything for DWs however.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thanks gentlemen, I was not confident that a solution was available without damaging the revolver and I sure want to avoid doing that, Dan's are thin on the ground in Australia but I always have an eye open for one becoming available. I guess I just need to practice some more to learn how to use the existing sights  better.

Try using several different brands of ammunition. One may shoot to point of aim better than others.
