I recently purchased one of the new 715 revolvers, but I do not have it in my hands yet. Would like to take the stock grips off and put wood grips on. I keep seeing square butt and round butt then I also see small frame and large frame. Can someone tell me if the 715 is a square or round butt and small or large frame?
Thanks

The 715 is a small frame. Square butt and round butt are usually s&w terms. DW grips are installed with a screw from the bottom of the grip up to the main spring housing on the frame. If you have found round or square butt DW grips either should work.

All the small frame Dan's I'm aware of use the square grip tang and take the square hole grips. The large and supermag frames have a round grip tang and require the round holed grips. Some folks have reamed their square grips to round to fit a large frame gun but if you want to just put them on, follow the above recommendations and you will have no problems with fit.

And, just to complicate things, Hogue (wood) grips for the large frames have a square grip-tang hole large enough to accept the round grip-tang found on the large frame guns.
Are we confused yet?

DW "small frame" is a S&W K/L frame (which is a medium frame in their world), FWIW.
But this does not apply to grips, DW is totally different from S&W in grips
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
