I was able to get her home last night after she sat in lay-away for a couple weeks. Pretty pleased. Now I have to get dies and get loading. I refuse to pay for factory ammo. Gun has very minor cosmetic issue's, minor to the point were they don't show in pictures. Gun is very tight which leads me to believe it hasn't been shot much, was well cared for, or both. I love the short and smooth double action trigger! The nice thing about no ammo is the weather here is cold and I wouldn't shoot now if I had ammo.

Nice score! The great thing about stainless guns is you can polish out the cosmetic issues and have them looking like new. Can't quite do that with a blue gun.
Range report when you get her out.

Depending on the kinds of marks you are trying to remove, you can use a number of things. If all you want to do is polish the gun, FLITZ or Mothers metal polishes work well. If you have scratches, scuffs, or nicks, you can use a beige Scotch-brite pad and follow with FLITZ. If you want a more matte finish, skip the FLITZ. I've already used fine wet/dry sandpaper to remove deep nicks and restore the brushed finish look to a shroud. Start out with something like 600 grit and work up til the finish is where you want it. Start small and experiment and you will be surprised at the results.
For carbon, depending where it is, a brass brush soaked in Hoppes works well. This is great for the cylinder face and under the top strap, since those areas aren't polished from the factory. A white or tan Scotch-brite pad also works on those areas. FLITZ will also remove carbon from the cylinder face.
