Lil' Dan, a fairly uncommon DW item. No need for a wrench, it's not an interchangeable barrel.
For a collector or hardcore DW revolver guy, $600 would probably be right. Play dumb and see how low you can go, it's a sort of specialized item
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The barrel is removable but I don't think any other lengths were available. EWK sells the wrenches if you need one. It's nice to be able to remove it for cleaning but not necessary. These guns also have unique lock work from the other Dan's. $600 is about right for just the gun.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

If a man designed it, and a man built it, then a man can fix it.

Yes, I misstated slightly on interchangeable versus removable. I'm not sure, is the wrench different from the standard DW?

Gentlemen:
I have two 738+P's. Both purchased LNIB.
At the time I bought the first one, the popular theory was that a 4-inch BA was available for the gun, though apparently, no one has ever seen one "in the wild" so to speak.
Both of mine came with everything in the box, except one of them didn't have a manual.
The barrel tools that came with both guns are identical to the one's I have for my 715's. That lead me to try to put a 4-inch BA from my 715 on one of my 738's. Well, that didn't work.
Despite the fact that they use the same barrel tool, the outside diameter of the barrel for the 738+P is somewhat smaller than the barrel for the 715.
Rats.
BTW, the manual makes no mention of other BA's available for the 738+P. It does mention that like other Dan's the barrel is held in tension at both ends contributing to better accuracy, but no mention of a longer BA to serve that purpose. I was hoping the manual would say something. Oh well, maybe there never was a BA738VH4 except in our own fantasies.

I also have one of these. Took years to find one, very rare.
The manual also makes mention if a 38p, but every one that I have ever seen on this board is the stainless (738p) version.
Mine suffers from slightly light primer strikes in DA. Never had an issue with Federal primers but Winchesters don't always go off DA. I'd replace the springs but nobody seems to make replacements.
