Gents,
I found a 744 locally with an 8 inch VH, ported, no tools, no original grips, it has pachmeyer presentation grips on it. The gun is in nice shape, no flame cutting, looks lightly fired. The gun shop wont take anything less $800. Seems high to me, but had a hard time locating a stainless .44 or .41. What do you think, I'm having a hard time pulling the trigger on this.
Thanks,
Greg

I paid $800 for a 744 but it had a10vh, 4vh, two holsters, box, tool, unused wood grip and pachmyer, and 320 rounds of ammo. Just got lucky when a buy now popped up on GB. On the otherhand, seeing it in person and liking it is worth a premium. 744's on gunbroker are usually in real fine shape. They are extremely tough guns and usually lightly used. Those that show black pits and corrosion were tackle box, pickup toolbox or hunting camp guns. Sellers will point out "small" spots. If you pay 800 you also have to buy a tool and pay sales tax. Look on GB first.
