Any experience with changing the front sight on a compensated shroud?  It has two pins as opposed to the front set screw on regular shrouds.  I'm not sure which one to push out or if they both need to be removed?  Any idea what the punch size is?  Thanks. GJ44

You will remove just the front pin and it will be a 1/16 punch.  If you are replacing the sight with another one, the new sight has to be drilled on a drill press and you have to locate the hole perfectly.  Put the new sight on the shroud and mark the the sight through the hole in the shroud with a sharp pick.  If you don't have a drill press don't even attempt it - you'll never be able to get it straight.  You have 1 chance per sight to get it right.

Thanks harly.  I want to put one of the EWK fiber optic sights on.  Looks like I better get it over to the gunsmith.  GJ44

I'd find someone with a drill press before a gunsmith.  Maybe it's just my personal misfortune, but it seems that every time a "gunsmith" gets their hands on a firearm it comes back dinged up.

Mark the location and then set the hole with a punch first.  You can do it with hand tools if you're careful.  However, a drill press is best.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thanks Gents,

I don't even have a good hand drill, but I do have a great local gunsmith.  I'll post a picture once its done.  GJ44

to keep from tying up your gun just take the shroud over and wrap  it up to show him you don't want any dings to show up when he  is done or being charged for extra work you don't want done to the gun.  fyi
