I am thinking about selling my Supermag to fund another project and would like to know what you guys think the value is.  This is the 7445 that also has cylinder inserts and an extra barrel for 22 hornet.SM1.JPGImage Enlarger

I do not think any of us here have seen a setup like that so I would have no idea what it could be worth. I would think $1500 would be low.

This is a pretty unique gun, very hard to figure a good selling price, but I agree that $1500 would be a good starting place

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

So, you can put the inserts into the chambers and shoot 22 Hornet? Hmm, interesting.

Neat gun, only thing I'd worry about is forgetting to change the barrel and accidentally shooting a 445 with the 22 tube still in the gun.  BOOM!

That would be bad, but unlikely.  That 22 Hornet barrel is so heavy you know it just picking it up.  That little bitty bore has a lot of steel around it.

I think that anyone that comes to own this gun would be very cognizant of the danger involved in not matching the barrel to the cartridge being shot. It is essentially a one of a kind.

I would also say that interchangeable cartridges with vastly different bore diameters could easily end up being a disaster in the hands of an uneducated shooter. How many times do we see topics on Forums about people who continue to shoot several of the same caliber down the barrel pushing up against a squib/misfire, all of the SAME caliber?

One .445 stuffed into a .22 barrel? Epic fail!

I still think this is a very interesting gun, and I think it's unlikely that the ultimate new owner could make this mistake, but still...

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

This gun stays in my safe in 445 configuration.  I always clean after I shoot and if I shoot 22 hornet, the inserts come out and the barrel gets changed back to 445.

This gun has been sold to a forum member.

OK, who bought it.  C'mon, step up to the plate. Identify yourself and then do a range-report on the .22 Hornet.

Mike- frankly, you were my first pick on "who bought it?" worship

I'm going to miss this gun.  It will be the first time in many years that I haven't had a DW revolver in the safe.  I am picking up a 38 Super Guardian though, so I won't be Danless.

Let's start a pool on who the lucky buyer is.

I'll guess either Jaggman or Supermagfan.
