What is the frame size if these do they use the same frame as the 15-2. Know the cyl will not accept a 357 but is it long enoug and strong enough if it was bored out would it take the pressure.
PS not mine but being asked this question. Me I will just use my 15-2.

As far as I know (pretty sure) its the same frame and cylinder just bored for 38 special only. One thought, while of course it is the owners choice, it would be a shame to alter a semi rare model 8 or 9 to create a much more common model 14-2 / 15-2.

I agree, it's the same frame (BTW: 8's and 9's don't have the "-2" designator). I also agree that reaming the cylinder would be kind of sad.
I KNOW that there are Members here that would swap a nice 15-2 for a Mod 8/9 in a heartbeat.
If your friend is of a mind to trade, he can use our "For Sale or Trade" Forum.
