I was in my local Pawn Store/Gun Dealer and saw a SS what I thought was a 357 but when I looked at it, it was a .22 magnum. Did they make anything besides magnum in .22? Darn that 8″ with all that barrel inside is as heavy a .22 as I have ever seen. Wish I had the coin for it, looked unfired.

Really? It said .22 Magnum?? Holy crap.
There's a lot of the .22 LR guns floating around (even a couple listed in the for sale section right now), but this is the first I've heard of a Mag found in captivity. DW had them listed in the brochures, along with pics, so I knew they had to at least have made a few of them...just haven't seen one yet.
That is THE .22 DW that I'd love to get my hands on, and if I had any more than two nickels to rub together right now, I'd be begging you for this dealer's contact info right now!
Ok, I lied. This is one of two .22's I want to own...the other is a SS 10" IHMSA gun just like our friend IHMSA80x80 has. That one is cool too.

A 22Mag would certainly be a cool addition. Guys since visitors to the forum do not have to register to see post I would suggest bnitch PM the information to zoommb. This is a pretty rare DW and I would like to see someone on the forum pick this one up!
I can't wait to hear how much it is myself!

I'm going to have to go back tomorrow and check on the price. the entire cylinder face was counter sunk which I found odd. But for sure it was a .22 WMR cause its been a long time since I had anything to do with .22's and asked if long rifle would fit and almost got laughed out the door. The price was around $450. This is where I bought my unfired model 14 for $400 and they have a 4" porkchop in the case also. In the last 6 months I've seen one Pistol Pack and one SS model 15 HV 8". In the same case.

zoommb-
It's a good thing that you you got firsties on this one, I might have had to do something stupid. I'm still sort of thinking about getting a cylinder reamed and fitted for my 722. Cylinder is about $100, need to ask my gunsmith if he wants to try doing this for me rather than sending it in.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Just a little input on the 22 mag. About a year ago I found a 22VH mag 8" barrel and shroud. Bought it and did not even have the pistol yet. I knew someday.. Sure enought , one morning on GB was listed a Blue 22 mag 2"VH pistol.. Buy it now @ $500.00 and I did .. Not often found as most of you already know.. Now resideing in a PP case off of Aution Arms.. Does any one have the whereabouts of a 6" and 4" stamped Monson 22 mag shroud.. The 22LR barrels are the same..

I'm ecstatic! I got it and my wife is OK with it even though I bought 2 others this month. Cost me $535, $500 + tax; no shipping. It was a great deal and offsets the ridiculous price for the 722VH8 - lr- that she wanted. I already have a PP case for it because I lost count when I was foraging for PP's and bought 1 too many.
Now, I'm really down to needing only (aside from a few roll-marked barrels) a 7414 to complete my collection.
I will post new pics to my collection post as soon as I can.
Hey Zoommb,
You are a little ahead of me. I'm actually trying to get one in each caliber as well but still have the following to go:
375 SuperMag
45 Colt
22 Mag
32-20
38 Special
I just knocked of the 357 SuperMag last week! Glad a member was able to pick this one up! We're all looking forward to photos!

Well Jody, I have to admit that I now have a 722M and if, by .38 Special, you mean a Lil' Dan and not a service gun, I have one of those too. However, I never got the point of the 375SM or even the 45 Colt. Now if the 32 was a 327 Federal Magnum...
Oh well, I'm glad my collection is almost complete (for my wants), because we've got our first grandchild comong in a few weeks and I know that is going to be a major $$$ bleed.

Good deal, glad you got it. They would have gone $50 under what ever its marked at, that is their standard way of doing business. Now If I can just find a 6" shroud for my 14 that has a higher rib I'd be happy too.
As I had said they also have a 4" porkchop in the case, if anyone needs one.

Hey zoommb...great score! Got it for a good price too. Looking forward to the pics.
About that .22 Mag on GB...the slots are not factory, it was done by an individual. I will try to look it up in the archives, but for some reason, I believe it was originally a .22LR also.
