It is my understanding that High Standard produced and marketed a revolver call the Sentinel MKII and MKIII for a period of time based on the Dan Wesson. From the pictures below it's clear that's the case.
I have read that the barrels were non removable. It's this point I'm not entirely convinced of. I was at a gun show a couple of weeks ago and looked at one these High Standards for the first time. The gun has the internal barrel nut now whether or not they secure it where it cannot be removed is the question. I might have to start carrying my barrel tool to the shows
Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

This thread was originally posted prior to learning all about the High Standard involvement with Dan Wesson. This topic was brought up a while later & John Stimson (the last word in HS guns) was kind enough to join the site & teach us about the DW/HS collaboration...

To answer DWenthusiast's question, Blacktop pretty much got it. I still don't consider myself the final word on all things Porkchop because I'm still learning a bit more all the time, so I'll say what I'm pretty certain of so far. The MK II pictured above would be the equivalent to the DW Model 14...or to be more specific, the 14-1.
The first Model 14 had an adjustable "drift" rear sight...
This gun also has the early style cylinder release lever & small knurled ejector rod.
These three things (along with some internal refinements) changed with the 14-1 model. I don't own a 14-1 yet, so I'm posting a pair of auction pics...
As Robhof stated, these barrels will interchange between the DW & HS .357 guns (not the HS .22 guns). Here is a close comparison regarding barrels & shrouds...

One last thought...as the High Standard MK II is the equivalent of DW's 14-1, the MK III is the equivalent of DW's 15-1 (adjustable rear sights).
