Good Morning,

I was checking out gunbroker when I came across a listing for a 15" model 715.  I had never seen one with the 15" Barrel and thought I would snag some of the pictures and post it here for everyone to see.

Model 715 with 15

If anyone is interested here is the link to the auction.  I don't have anything to do with this auction just wanted to share the photos.

Currently at $605.00 this would seem to be a good buy, interesting to see how high it goes.  I have never seen a stainless 15" barrel before.

I have a 15" blued VH barrel, have seen several sell on E-Bay back when they would allow barrels.  If I recall, a VH went for over $800 a couple of years ago, a standard barrel for just over $600 about a year ago.  That was for just the barrel, shroud and nut, no firearm with them.

I do know that they are not making the .357 barrel in 12" or 15" lengths anymore and there probably weren't a whole lot of them to begin with, they are definitely a specialty barrel !

I agree, as we cannot recall ever seeing one either, in this stainless steel configuration....wonder if it "may" be one of the blue 15 inchers and it was 'SS Metalife" finsih put on some time back....

very interesting..................Undecided

I'm shocked!

The 15" DW went for $1575.  I figured it would go for maybe $800 to $1000 guess I was wrong.  Same thing happened when I was bidding on a DW 732.  I was already to go up to about $450 and it went for $700+.

Must be a seriousy DW collector out there!

Looks like someone else has decided to sell a DW with a 15" barrel after seeing the price of the last one.

Here is the link to the auction and the description:

Dan Wesson 357 magnun revolver ,with a 15 " barrel, that has a sharps and shiny bore. The finish on the medal looks to be matte black parkerized, that is 80% and the wood grips is 25% with nicks. Will add picture latter.

I guess I shouldn't have been in such a hurry to sell the 15" VH barrel assembly off my model 15-2 last year.  It went for $595 on eBay and included a set of scope rings, sling and grip (with sling mount).

Here is a, not so good, picture (I am keeping the 10" barrel in the picture):

That is a custom made grip, I think carved out of the block of wood that used to come included with a model 15 pistol pac.  I bought it off eBay a couple years ago.  It does work well with all that weight hanging off the front of the frame, but the thumb rest interfers with loading/unloading.  I cannot use a speed loader.

Here's another 15" Dan Wesson on Gun Broker currently at $900.  Here is what the letter below states:

"This letter is to certify that Dan Wesson Arms model 15-2VH15 with "CB Armchrom Finish", Serial # 161599 is the first chrome finish 15" firearm to be shipped"

This letter is dated January 15th, 1979.
