This again is that question of converting a rare DW.
I do not know if it is possible but you could surely get enough money if you sold it and the money you would save from the conversion you could buy a really nice 15-2.
Most of the models that DW produced will never be made again and we need to preserve the ones that are still around.
just my 2 cents.
It is your gun and you can do anything you want to it.

That depends on the heat treating of the 38 spl frame which I doubt you will ever find out. I wouldn't do it nor allow anyone whose fingers I cared about to shoot it if you did.
About 30 or 40 years ago there was a bunch of conversions using the S&W M&P (Pre-Model 10's) frames and Rugers. The builders were putting barrels from Colt Pythons on K frame Smiths and calling them Smolts and Smythons. They also did the Colt barrel thing to Ruger Sec Sixes and called them Cougers. Switching parts was done from one maker to another. I have seen Model 19 cylinders on Model 10 frames also and while the cylinder will take the pressures and the barrel probably will, the frames were never designed for those forces. None of them are safe to shoot with .357 mags, at least not if you value your fingers, hands and eyes.
Why would anyone do this to a decent firearm when good used .357 mags are easily come by and far less trouble to acquire?
