I just picked up a Dan Wesson .22 LR with an 8 inch barrel. I am curious if anyone has measured the chambers on their .22 LR. This one measures .239". I would think it should measure about .225" like the other .22's I have. It's kind of loose for a LR round. It's really getting close to the .22 Mag. which is supposed to be .240". The gun is marked .22 LR but I was wondering if maybe they chambered it for either the .22 LR or .22 Mag. I haven't tried to chamber the Mag. in it. I did see another Dan wesson .22 LR that the owner said had problems with cases sticking. I could see nothing wrong with the revolver other than needing a good cleaning. I wonder if Dan Wesson increased the size of the chambers to solve the sticking case problem. Does anyone have any information or has anyone measured the chamber size in their revolver?

I answered my own question today.
For anyone wanting to know, The .22 Mag. does not chamber in this revolver. Dan Wesson evidently had complaints of sticking cases and decided to enlarge the chambers for the .22 LR. The chambers are just small enough to keep the .22 Mag from being chambered but large enough to keep cases from sticking. There is only about .002" difference between the chamber on this revolver and the size of the .22 Mag case.
