The basic composition of my particular case of insists that I give many wayward Porkchops a good home…who am I to argue?
This poor little guy went no less than 13 rounds on GB, with no takers. When I found out the serial number on this .357 was made exactly 10 guns after my .38 M14, I decided it needed to follow me home.
When I first got it, it was pretty clean overall…but the action was stiff. It loos like the gun was rarely fired, but had been carried for a while, so today I decided to see what was going on inside.
The crusty old grease & light rust was expected, but I didn't expect to see what I swear was cracker & bread crumbs! There was so many crumbs down in the main spring hole, that it didn't want to move freely. I had already blown some out, before I thought to grab the camera.
Ok now…I haven't removed the barrel from my .38 M14 yet, so this nut style was a surprise once I unscrewed it. This (crappy pic) shows the same unique fluted style nut that is on my exposed nut Model 15…and some old gooey brown grease. 😛
Here's the one from my M15.
Like my .38, this one has also got a bit of Barney action going on…but it wasn't until I held them next to each other that I realized they are both Barneyed almost identically!
The cylinder is Barneyed on the .357, but not on the .38
Just think, the last time these two likely saw each other was back at DW.
I can feel another Pac case coming on…
