Yep – Wayne has the DW ESP – darn good guess!!
A friend gave me the lead on this one. A C&R dealer in PA had this one sitting under his bed for the last 25 years – he forgot about it and recently spotted the case. He said he pulled the case out and didn't know what was in it – certainly a nice find. It's hardly been fired and looks like only the 8" bbl. has been mounted. It needed a little work though. I spent the day reconning it and as always, I hit the vent ribs, tops of the shrouds, and top strap with glass bead blast to bring back the factory finish. There were a few light rub marks and the notorious extractor scratch on the side plate that blended in with scotchbrite. I stripped the frame down and there was no powder or any residue inside, no wear at all on any of the internals. After a good cleaning and oiling, reassembly and just like new!
