Here is a young Lt. posing with his Dan Wesson Model 11 insides the confines of the security office at a local government building here in Columbus. This DW Model 11 pictured, was purchased by the Lt. in November 1997. It was his first Dan Wesson and he bought it because of it's unusual looks and good price. He had never before owned or shot a Dan Wesson before and after taking this Model 11 to the range he was impressed with the close grouping that the odd-looking Model 11 made. The close grouping 'really' impressed him and he started carrying it as his duty sidearm from time to time. He would later compete against the best semi-auto shooters the local PD and Sheriff's Office had, using this same Model 11. He added black rubber Hogue Grips and then would change back to the original walnut DW Combat Grips that you see in the pictures. The Lt. would add three more Dan Wesson Revolvers because of the results with the first one here. He shot none of those like he did the first one! It was 'something' about his Model 11 that would enable him to shoot his highest scores, beat his strongest opponents in the revolver days and into the semi-auto era, beginning in 1992 here. He used other six-guns and with "GOD's" Mighty Hand did well with them too. The Lt. here was not a natural shooter, not even. He struggled much, practiced much and paid the high price that 'all' seasoned lawmen do before their career comes to an end. He viewed his service as an 'honor' and 'privilege' to serve. He stumbled much, fell much but was always 'helped' back up. His Model 11 allowed him a few glorious moments in the latter years of his career. Thank you my friends, I hope you enjoy the pictures.
