Sorry, I can't help you myself but I am sure you will get an answer before long, there are a lot of folks here that know a great deal about the Wesson brand and history. Good luck.proud-to-be-an-american

You are very unlikely to ever get an answer to this question. Your only possible hope is to contact DW/CZ in Norwich, NY.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I agree with Steve, give CZ/DW a try & report back.goodluck

As my armchair guess, I would expect the amount to be a max of 1500 ~ 2000 made. Judging from what we've seen surface so far, it wouldn't surprise me if fewer than 1000 of each (Action Cup & PPC) were made.

Here's what I've noticed so far. So little is known today about these guns, and new updated info seems to come along almost monthly, so this is by no means gospel on the subject.wink Any additional input is always welcome.

The Action Cup seems to have shipped with a variety of scopes, and were available in .38 or .357…

Some had bobbed hammers, some had regular. Bobbed hammers are DA only. So far, I haven't spotted a .38 with a regular hammer. The one below is Walt's .357, wearing a regular hammer.

PPC had no scope, but were shipped with the Aristocrat sight system… So far, I've only seen PPC's in .357, not to say that a .38 model isn't possible.

Is the lower section of the shroud a separate piece... removable?

My AC falls into the bobed-hammer, single action 38 Special catagory. Also to mention is they were made during the transition from Monson to Palmer. You will find them with either location of Mfg. Mine is Monson marked.

Very nice looking guns. Anyone know how the trigger is on the DOA revolvers. I imagine very little pull. If the only made that barrel shroud on a .44 or .445.drool

Correction, my AC is DOA only.

The trigger action is the smoothest of any Dan Wesson I have owned.
