I haven't looked around yet, but, where would I find some good after market grips for my newly acquired .44. The original wood grip is just huge. I can grip it fine but I was thinking more of a hogue style with the finger grooves. I'm asking 'cause it seems that DW revolvers even though they have been around awhile aren't very prevalent in most gun circles. When looking on the grip sites which grips will fit the same guns. I mean will a S&W fit a DW? or will that one and this one interchange? That's what I'm lookin' for.
I'm gonna be hunting with it so I also wanted to kinda protect the wood grips and change them out.

Dan Wesson grips are unique unto themselves...so no, a S&W grip will not interchange. There's also two different types of DW grips, large frame & small frame. A .44 is a large frame. The center hole in a large frame grip is round, while the small frame uses a square hole.
Gun Broker, Auction Arms & even eBay are usually always listing DW grips for sale. And plenty of them are Hogues.
everybody likes a certain feel whem they grip a handgun and most have extra grips around, I've found the hogue (58000) in the large frame to feel good and comfortable with the 44mag recoil. They are always availble on ebay at around $17.00 a pair. the small frames are (57000) for the rubber hogues. whith the shipping you might a well buy two pair if ti is a dutch auction they'll usually ship for the same postage.

Obviously, you're looking for Large frame
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
