I am now the owner of a Model 15, Monson made, serial # 306447.  I have just begun my quest on these beautiful pieces and cannot wait to get started.  I do need a barrel wrench, gap tool(?) and the other bits and pieces any beginning DW might need.  I hope this is a great shooter.

Welcome to the world of Dan Wessons.  For a gap tool, you can use a feeler gauge from any auto supply, for the 15 the gap is .006.  Check on Ebay for the tool, the older style for the 38/357 come up regularly and aren't too expensive, Dan Wesson/CZ also sells the door knob style barrel tool, and there are usually some of the new T type multi-caliber style on Ebay, but they run about the same as the DW/CZ style.

From the small amount of serial number info we've been able to gather, your number would put the date around 1985, give 'er take a year.

Congrats on the purchase.

You can also get the standard barrel tool from DW / CZ for $43.  See our parts list posted under the parts and service forum (it's dated 2008, but is the one they are still using in Norwich).  it will come with a .006 feeler.

Sounds like you made a good find, congrats! Is this a blued gun & do you have a single barrel, or multiples?

I am satisfied that the price was fair.  I do want to buy several other handguns before the political climate really changes.  Pistol should be at my FFL by friday or so...looking forward to "airing" it out.!
