Just finished but not sighted in yet. The H1 is mounted on a homemade weaver rail that's screwed to the barrel shroud using the stock DW pattern.

Eric - there's a new product for you - clamp on scope mounts.

Thanks. When the snow melts some, I'll sight it in. I was thinking I might lower it down .050" or so as well. If I was to make another one I'd make the clamping screw slot shallower and not as wide. I used picitinny rail dimensions and the Ampoint's clamping screw doesnt require such a large slot.

I'm also toying with the idea of making a mount that cantilevers back over the frame a bit.  Eye relief is not a consideration but it might look aesthetically better. Any opinions?

I will have to do a picture of my 15-2 VH6 with Millett 3 moa red dot. Even scopes on the big boys look and feel better IMHO when set back over frame.

Very old topic giving me silly ideas...

Yeah, I think I'm going for something close to it.

Just not installing the dot over the barrel, but on the frame.
