To answer the question YES well almost. Basically fixed barrel Dan Wessons will all be marked Palmer. The exception is very early some pork chop model 11 and or 12s were made with a non removable barrel nut. I believe these were probably built for a Police Dept some where. Other than those few very early ones all Monsons will be interchangeable. A Palmer marked model may or may not be fixed. Fairly easy to recognize once one figures out the differences.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.

Some police departments required fixed barrel. NY City PD for one. You can make your own fixed barrel. Either put the nut on backwards ( I did that once by accident but did manage to get it off) or red Loctite it on. If you buy enough Dans you will eventually find one of themðŸ˜

There was a time that the three companies authorized by NYPD to provide revolvers for issue/duty sidearms were Smith & Wesson, Colt, and Dan Wesson. The DW's were required to be fixed barrel guns for two reasons
1) To make certain that officers issued the DW revolver would/could not tinker with their guns and cause functional issues
2) To maintain the integrity of barrel/rifling testing and ballistic "fingerprinting"
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
