popgun, thank you for the link.... it was nice to reread this as I have not been able to find our "copies" of the older American Handgunners...brings back memories as our shop ( Cleveland Bluing Co) was mentioned in these articles, we were the "warranty repair" station for Dan Wesson Arms back in the 70's and we trained at the "old school house" up inMonson back then.... the picture of Mr Wesson with Massad , could have been ME, I stood in that same spot and was trained by Mr Wesson himself as to ALL their line at the time...................needless to say, we were NOT in it for ANY 'photo' shoot or fame or glory, just wanted to "do the job"....all the names of the folks in the articles, as well as the other builders, shooters and folks mentioned we met, and have worked with and shot with many years ago.....
again, THANK you for this information,
forgot to add, there was another issue of the American Handgunner,I think it was Jan/Feb 1976, our shop did a few "converstions" of the Dan Wesson and chambered them for the 256 Winchester....willhave to sdig that one up sometime...........

I just printed off this article and I'm looking forward to reading it. I have pulled the Dan Wesson Articles from that PDF file and added it under Articles. Click the link below to download just the Dan Wesson portion...

Jody, thank you, I may have to get up the nerve to "see" just how that would print out.. all that Red & yellow scares me, this ink is WAY too costly around here...........
is there a "printer friendly" version....??
Yessir, that does bring back LOTS of memories, very fine and complete article too, they covered it all, except in our shop , they used the "shop" name ( Cleveland Bluing) and none of our own names, oh well so much for "fame & glory"......( not really, as we only wanted to do the job....)
Thanks again......

Hey Dant,
I printed it out on my laser printer in back and white and it was a little straining on the eyes to read but well worth it. I really enjoyed it.
I don't think there's anything I can do to make the print quality better.
So is Cleveland Bluing still in business, if so what services are you all offering now?

No sorry, we 'split up' years ago, and they ( my other partners) finally closed the doors a few years later and we went on to another shop over in Eastlake ,Ohio and about 1986 we lost our parking lot ( they sold the property) and we had to close that up also.......worked at a few other shops off and on and out of the house for another 10 years and finally "retired" from the gun business.... only help folks out here and there, no headaches or responsibility, besides "product liability" insurance went through the roof....one of the main reasons..Everybody made "money" but us...........taxes, accountants, lawyers, vendors/suppliers and the "help"....
