I'd been thinking about a way to mount a single lens red dot sight on a model 15 with a 4" barrel. What came to mind is modifying the length and height of the B-Square mount. Judging by pictures and remembering what I can of having one 10 years ago it seems like you could possibly make 2 mounts for the single lens sights.
Not having one in front of me and wondering what else I may run into is why I'm here. What are your guy's thoughts?

Modifying the length is no problem--you can make it as short as the clamp area. Nothing you can do with the height though. I sssume you are talking about a reflex type of sight, not the typical Tasco PDP series of reddot. If this is the case I personally would tap for a weaver rail.

Now that you bring that up tapping for a rail is a much better idea, Duh. Thank you for the idea. What rail would you use?
If anybody has experience with the single lens red dots I'd be interested in your knowledge regarding ones under 250 or so. My knowledge is slim to none.
Thanks.

Here's one option:

If you mean a reflex style red dot, I use a Burris Fastfire on my Buckmark, however they are rated for much larger calibers

I got a real deal on mine last summer, it went on special for $159.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
