From what I have found so far, I didn't get hurt any buying this gun at about $405 tax and all….but I don't have any idea what it should actually be worth. It has the "power control" ported barrels, and was made at the monson plant. Since I can't use it with cast bullets and have a six month old boy, I'd rather put the money into something else. I know only a little about DW's from searching here and a few other places, so any assistance would be appreciated. Smile

Edit: sorry about some of the pictures being a little fuzzy. I didn't have a tripod for the camera handy when I took them.

It looks like the revolver has some scratches on it (let me know if I'm wrong) but with the 2 barrels and case a fair price would probably be around $600 gave or take depending on where you are.

If you listed it on an auction you might get more.  Hope this helps.

Proud To Be An AmericanWelcomethe price is about right, would surely bring more on GB with the set up you have make sure you list with any papers and tools. I would love to have a 8" shroud for my set up. Good luck and thanks for the pictures.

Yes, there are some scratches. It isn't a mint gun by any means. There is some freckling on the cylinder and bbls, I'm guessing due to storage in the case. There is also a rust spot on the end of the 4" bbl shroud, which can be seen in the left side pic of that bbl. After looking at some of the "pistol pac" cases here, I don't think this one is a DW case.

I will try to find the private message function, since I don't see a quick link or anything for it. Smile

Jody's price estimate is about what I was going to say, too.  A couple things of interest on that one…

It's an early model (short hammer spur & non-lettered serial #)

The material in the case looks like it's someone's own addition…or if it is factory, this is the first I've seen so far.

Thanks for sharing theCool Pics

*EDIT* I was typing while you posted. If the case isn't an original, that would subtract some value...maybe $75 or so.

OK, guys let's not gyp him.  The Pistol pac is worth at least $150, the gun with 1 barrel about 450, and the spare barrel assembly is worth at least $150.  That comes to a minimum of about $750.

If I was him, I would buy a couple of un-ported barrels to use inside the existing shrouds. They're not expensive and available from DW if he doesn't want to wait for them to come up on GB.

But, but...the gun does have a bunch on "character marks" on it, that's why I was low-balling a little.Wink

Although looking at the pics again, it does look like an original case, so nevermind on my "subtract $75" statement I posted above.Laugh

But, but... oh well, OK. Maybe I'm a little high considering the "character".  However, I still think he should just buy a couple of non-ported tubes.

I don't have any ported barrels, but if I did, I'd be welding a sleeve around the barrel at that point.

I will get some better pics of the case and the gun. I took these several days ago and didn't look at them until I uploaded to post here.

Good luck with what ever you decide to do but you do realise non ported barrels can be had from Dan Wesson for $82 for the 6" and $105 for the 8".  That way you can have the best of both worlds. Also barrels come up on the auction sites fairly regular if you don't mind waiting for the right deal.  Did someone already mention that?  Well just a reminder then.Laugh

I have a case with the same fabric as this one I thought someone had replaced the original with this gold crushed velvet, so maybe at some point they used this stuff for a short time because my other 4 cases have the other fabric.

Well that's interesting. If there's two cases out there with the same type of fabric, then maybe it IS possible that this fabric was used for a short time.

We know by now that pretty much anything is possible with DW. Lets call it the "ARRRGGGHHH! Factor".

"Every time I think I know everything I need to know, Life proves otherwise to me"

That is a quote from the dumbest guy I know-ME

All things considered, it's still fun Wink

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
