I asked about this on the gun smith forum but no one answered. Maybe someone here can help me. I'm following the instructions for the Average Joe tuneup. The text is very precise and the photos are great. I'm finished with disassembly and polishing. It says, "all the small parts got a blue job." Does this mean I blue all these shiny surfaces I just honed? (Sorry I've never done this b4.)

Here's an uneducated response from someone who has done AJT a few times:
1) Properly done bluing should not affect your polished surfaces, it is not a "plating" it is a molecular reaction
2) You would not commonly blue the internals on a stainless gun.
3) Quality steel, properly finished, lubricated, and stored should not arbitrarily corrode in a normal gun application.
Keep it clean, properly lubed, and stored in an appropriate environment, no worries.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
