Hi guys I just aquired a "new to me " 1978 DW mod 15 with an 8" standard barrel and I am looking to add a 6" vented barrel assy and tool and I thought maybe someone might have some insight.  I've seen a few on Ebay but the prices are more than I paid for the gun.  Thanx in advance for any help you can provide.

Welcome from another new member and "new" 15-2V6 owner. That's a good looking revolver. With that 8" barrel I bet you could make head shots on insects. I just ordered a barrel tool and extra nut from EWK. The tool was about $28. There is a for sale section here you could keep an eye on for a barrel and of course ebay.

You can also buy barrels at EWK or OEM barrels at CZ-USA. They have them in stock now, which is hit or miss. Here is the link: https://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/DWRB313BM_Ba-Blued-357-4-Inch

Sounds a lot like my collection of 357s. 1967 Colt Trooper 4" 357, GP100 4" blued, GP100 5" stainless, SP101 2.5" 357 and now 1981 DW 15-2V6. It's nice to be able to plink with less expensive 38spl at the range. Really no need for me to get another barrel for my DW since I've got 2.5"-6" covered already. But I might jump on an 8" barrel/shroud for my DW if I could find one reasonably priced.

I would love to get my hands on a Colt Trooper!!  I love them.  Post a pick I'd love to see it!   I just ordered a 6" vented barrel for my DW I name it Checkmate but I intend to call it my "poor mans Python" LOL.  I bought it with the 8" standard but it is REALLY heavy plus I can't CC it with 8"  I haven't seen to many barrel assy for less than $300 new or used.

Here's the '67 Trooper with the gear he carried it in and the same old ammo still in the belt. He never carried a semi auto. My wife grew up watching him clean this gun while she was polishing his brass when she was just a kid. Eighty five bucks in Jan. 1968. BTW, that's a good looking 15-2V6. It's almost IMG_0147-2.JPGImage Enlarger

identical to my first DW (15-2 V6 1981) I got about a month ago.IMG_0183-1.JPGImage Enlarger

Stonebuster that is awesome!!  I love the Trooper and the Python.  Even better that you have the original holster!  $85 wow The idea of the prices we pay today without 1/2 the quality.  Good looking piece man!!
