I think the problem is the gun. You should send it to me and I will ship you a Smith. Lol. Seriously, don't loctite it. Always take your barrel tool to the range with you and check it frequently. That goes for any Dan Wesson. The nut should not be over tightened though. Snug is usually good. I would get a new barrel nut. The treads may be damaged on yours. If that doesn't work, a new barrel tube may be necessary. It is not normal. NEVER, EVER LOCTITE A BARREL NUT OR WORSE YET, THE BARREL TO THE FRAME.

Thanks for the information. It's a new 10 inch heavy barrel assembly that dan wesson made so I hope it's nothing serious. I was shooting 339 grain bullets at just over a 1000 fps second.
