So I know this topic is a hair old but any follow up on this? I'm supposedly getting my 744 back from the CZ hospital in a few days and I have a big socket that got bonked that I cut a slit in so it fits my ewk wrench nice and toite. Putting a Burris on my 10 inch barrel and I have a spare fat wrench in my range bag. Hex to 3/8th fits perfect in the wrench. Bit of accuracy lost in the play between parts on the driver but at least it'll be consistent ish loss.

Yes I did. I also experimented with tiny changes in cylinder gap (just 1 or 2 thou).
It did not materially affect group size, but it did change mean point of impact.
I now have "witness marks" on both the shroud's front face & the barrel nut. Nothing garish, just a single scribed line across the moving parts. When they all line up its tensioned just right for me.

I didn't know how to use it.”
