I noticed recently on eBay a 10 inch 357 mag barrel assembly went for about 740 dollars which is $40 more then I paid for a complete blue 44 Magnum with a 10 inch barrel on gunbroker. does that sound par for the course in barrels values of 357 vs 44? yesterday a nice looking stainless 44 with 10" barrel went for 780. are these flukes?

It can sometimes be cheaper to buy a complete gun to get a barrel assembly you want, than to just buy the barrel. Doesn't make sense, but it happens.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

If a man designed it, and a man built it, then a man can fix it.

The 357 10" Barrel assembly was a special order, as was the 12" and the 15". There are far less of then than the four standard sizes offered in the pistol pack. The large frame guns came with the choice of 4",6",8" and 10". Consequently there are relatively more of them. The 4" VA and the 10" VA are the priciest of the lg frame assemblies. The 10" 357 is going for more than a whole gun and the 12" and 15" can be more than a pistol pack. Scorpio is right. I have three 10" and a12" that I acquired in a multi barrel deals that that I consider GTDW. Keep an eye out for those deals and be prepared to press a BIN button.
