Wanted to give you guys an update with what’s going on with

the barrel and shroud project. I was saying maybe around the end of the month

of September there would be ready-but guess what-it has come and gone

and still not ready…

This project has turned into be far, far beyond what I

thought it would be. You know stuff comes up out of the clear blue…like this

post, I was typing away and hit the wrong key and lost it all! Its kind of like

that but on a much larger scale!

I’m making headway, and I hope to have some results here

soon, but have decided I am through on setting dates-because they just keep

getting missed. You may be asking with seeing the pictures of the prototypes

and the barrel testing posts that it doesn’t make much sense with all the

delays and I agree with you it doesn’t. The biggest thing here is doing it “Cheap”

And that means reducing hand work and improvised setups to a minimum…and

getting the machinery going to do that…that’s taking time, all this has to be paid for,

which means doing other stuff that does generate some money, which further limits the time to work on it. Plus I want to keep this what it is supposed to be for ME-fun! Its not very fun when you have a ton of stuff that needs to be done by a set date and there is simply no way to get it done before that date and the more you try the worst it gets with more stuff coming up.

Believe me I’m still really excited about this, and get these piles of partially completed steel made into what they are supposed to be! I'm by far not giving up! (Well I am if I run out of money, that's where I draw the line!) But haven't got to that point yet! lol2 I'm going to keep trying my best, its really maddening at this point we are so close to have things come up to push back the date!

Thanks guys, its been a blessing to have your support! DWF Sign

No problem Eric, I understand, believe me I understand. It will come together with time and we all will be patiently waiting. tic-toc tic-toc Wink

Eric- I have a tendency toward the same feelings with personal projects, I am MUCH harder on myself about timetables and due dates than others (my wife excluded from that last comment Wife). You still need to earn a living and have a life, we all are in that same boat, so just relax and get things done when they get done. As regards new DW projects, put them into the "roundtuit file" they get done when you get around to it. I also hope that with all the DW stuff, Eric is getting taken care of financially. You are putting time and money out, you deserve a benefit from that.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the heads up!

Keeping it fun and keeping your interest if of course key to making this something we can have longer term. From where I stand, money would certainly be an issue, given basically you cant make any money until something sells and all the costs are up front!! Be imaginative and keep making it fun!

Suggestion:

DWF BA edition: pre-orders for a specilally marked BA's (with certificate!) 1 of 15

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

4 Monson Model 15's

1 Palmer FB 15

1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)

Gotta keep it fun for you.

It's only fair that as my daughter would say "be the line leader" on this one! Cool

Seriously, don't take the fun out of it.  We'll all be ready for when it's a go with orders!

I'd be up for that!Laugh Count me in there somewhere & let me know when to send the funds! I know, yesterday...right?lol2 Seriously though, I'd sure love to be in on the ground floor of a venture like this, if you decide to do a "first run" type of thing.DWF Sign

Eric, I totally understand what you're probably feeling on your end...that's why I haven't tried to bombard you with a wish list just yet. Once you're up & running, you can count on many orders from this side of the map/blue marble/rock/whatever....rofl ....to help support your hard work.  We (and I) can be patient, it's worth the wait, keep at it.occasion

Thanks guys! Laugh

Pre-orders are a great idea, but I'm very hesitant to be holding hostage money, I have one guy that sent in some $$$ to order some customized parts and its in the back of my mind all the time-I guess you could call it a chip on the shoulder!

DWF first edition is a great idea! Along with the certificate of "authenticity"! lol2

Steve, I appreciate that about putting the new projects on the side burner…but that may not fly with what's going down-I'll share more details once I find out if anything is gonna happen, but one of the big boy companies contacted me that happened to find information that originated right here on the forum! Really excited to see what happens there!!!!

Things are going good financially so far, the lights are still on! I mean things are really looking up, its just a matter of getting everything done, hence my original post just to let 'ya all know I'm still alive and working on things!

Don't think of it as hostage money.  Think of it as venture capital.  I would happily put a few hundred dollars into the pool w/ no expectation of return.  If someday I get a 3 inch 744 V BA and the opportunity to buy other BAs that would be my return on investment.  Kinda like Warren Buffett supporting a new high tech venture...ok not really like that!Wink

Take the time to do it right and you'll wonder why it was done so quick!

We can definetly all hold our breaths (baited as they might be) for what we're all salavating on and over and have been for a while....

But we so very much appreciate your effort and can't wait to show you the money! (and our unending gratitude)

Keep it fun!

When you want to do something right, it's usually better to "go slow to go fast".

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

GJ, Thank you very much for the generous offer, but can't accept something like that! I know, I'm a great business man. Confused

I know CF! You just never know who is lurking around here!

Again, thanks for the support and most of all patience! Very true, rushing around and coming up with a less than what it can be result isn't good!
