Hey Guys! Thought I'd post up some pictures of what we've got so far on the barrels and shrouds. For a rewind (since its been so long some of you may have forgotten) planning on making new barrels and shrouds for Dan Wessons. I wanted to start with the 15" ones since the longest ones would be the most difficult to manufacture hence getting everything figured out. But planning on making all of the shrouds and barrels variations Dan Wesson did, and some others that are quite exciting… Long story made short, getting setup to make these has turned out to be quite a battle. But finally we're starting to get some results-here's what we have so far…real progress has been made in the last couple days…everything is made here in house…except the front sight and setscrew…plus the barrel blanks…just haven't got around to those yet.
Keep in mind this is just one of the test pieces…its not 100% where I want it to be/finished products will be…biggest difference is that the bluing doesn't quite match the originals (but no problem, I just didn't have fine enough buffing compound on hand-I wanted to get SOMETHING done!!!) Will try posting up some better pics, (I'm not an expert with taking pictures) but here's some for now.

Thanks for the kind words guys!
I'm hoping to have a chance to try firing it this weekend...that should be fun!
Start saving money so you can own many of them! You've been warned.
I didn't engrave Shoot's name on the other side...but he among others have been going through my mind as I've been working on 'em...so you can say its on there, but you just can't see it!

Eric,
When I look at your work, the title "master machinist" comes to mind. It's like looking at a piece of fine art, but functional. Congratulations on your successful completion of you first functional prototype. I hope all goes well at the range. I'm looking forward to a range report.

Thanks again for the comments guys!
Weekend has come and gone, and didn't have a chance to test fire it....will try for next weekend...
Pops2, That wouldn't be a problem!
Supermagfan, Definately! The .357' are going to be first, but with slight tooling change .44's/large frames aren't a problem...
Landtoy80, Yes, making the shrouds...and the barrels...and the nuts...etc. Even planning on making the barrel blanks in house too. I've found its a problem to get good pistol barrel blanks...With already having gundrilling equipment that can handle drilling/reaming pistol barrel blanks...I think it only makes sense...
And yes, integral picatinny rails are definately on the list...like near the very top!
Okay Jody and Shoot, you have definately some things to sort out so everyone is happy...
